Cabinet Project in Progress

Thanks for the comments on my last post. In-progress posts it is! I'll start by posting here on the blog. I typically take project photos with my camera, not phone, and getting them on Instagram is a cumbersome process.

Toe kicks added to bottom of cabinets
Cabinets connected
Supports added to top of cabinets

Supports for what? That will be the ambitious part of this project. More to come!

    1. They're pre-assembled cabinets from the local home improvement store.

    2. I was curious. They look good quality

    3. They're not top-of-the-line solid wood, but they seem sturdy and they look nice on the inside. The stores carry several standard sizes in stock. The wood is unfinished, so one can stain or paint them any color.

  2. Fish tank! I hope it's for a fish tank!

    1. Good guess! The previous homeowner actually had an enormous fish tank in that same spot.

    1. It's an odd idea... I hope it works out. :)

    1. Yes, I think you could call it a buffet or sideboard as it's in the dining area... but it will have another use as well.

  5. A china/curio cabinet?

That reminds me... the cabinet I have is in desperate need of a lick of black paint. It's that same color too, but a little more on the yellow side... and it annoys me lol.

    1. Nope... though the cabinets would make a good base for a curio cabinet. (You can't tell from the pictures, but the wall behind is just a half wall, so max height of my project is about 4 feet.)

I can't wait to get these cabinets painted! They go with nothing in my house... except the flooring, which I am also itching to get rid of.

  6. Maybe you already do this, but an easy way to get photos from your camera to Instagram is to edit them on your computer and then email them to yourself. :)

    1. Thank you for the tip! I have done that, but it's a bit of a hassle for me because I don't keep my phone at hand.

I can post a photo to all the other places (Blogger, Facebook, Pinterest) right from my computer, but I have to go through extra steps and dig out an entirely separate device to get it on Instagram. I wish that were not necessary.

    2. If your camera has near field connectivity or wifi then you should be able to download an app (I've got a Sony camera and their app is PlayMemories) to be able to send them from your camera to your phone.

    3. Alas, my camera isn't that sophisticated.
