A Complete Waste of Time

I spent the morning driving 75 screws into my subflooring. There was no appreciable difference in the creaking.

75 screws and IT STILL CREAKS.

I am so frustrated! I don't know what else to do except have the subflooring replaced. It will be at least two weeks before I can do that because I have meetings and events at work. So I get to live with bare plywood floors while my lovely new flooring sits in boxes. UGH.

The silver lining is my new washer and dryer are working well.

And I'm looking forward to the solar eclipse tomorrow. It will be more than 90% of totality here. If there aren't too many clouds, it should be a spectacular sight! :)

  2. Oh, no! How frustrating! :( At least you aren't having to live with holes in your floor in the meantime. I mean, creaky plywood is better than that, right?

Hope you get to see the eclipse!

    1. Sometimes, I think holes might be better. :P With no flooring on top to muffle the sound, the creaky plywood is SO LOUD. On the bright side, it would probably be an excellent burglar alarm. I would hear anyone trying to sneak around my living or dining room.

Then again, holes might be even more effective because the burglar would fall 10 feet onto the concrete basement floor below. XD

  3. I Hope the Eclipse watching was spectacular, ours was Meh here in Arizona, not all that evident anything was different. But I did get to enjoy the National Shared Images of the best of it! The floor board struggle would frustrate me too, when the new flooring goes down and looks amazing you'll forget all about what a pain in the ass the Process was. *Smiles*
