New Flooring in Progress

I'm making good progress installing my new flooring. :)

The old flooring was a light oak color:

The new flooring is a dark brown/black color.

In outdoor news, we had a slight change in the weather. Yesterday it was 70F/21C. Today it is snowing. Luckily for my little dogs, the pine tree in my backyard provides a snow-free area.

  2. I like cooler wooden colors. Here most furniture/flooring is yellow like your old one or even worse, reddish. That grey you used is my favourite, it goes with everything and it's very practical when you have dark pets.

    1. I prefer cool colors as well. Luckily, grey has been in style the last few years, so there are some cooler tone options available. :)

  3. Loving the new floors! And I can't believe you're getting snow! It kinda makes me nostalgic for home. Glad the furbabies have a snow free potty spot, though. :)

    1. Thanks! The snow was a one-day event (not atypical here). It was sunny again by 6:00 pm.

  5. Congrats on the new flooring. I really enjoy your blog and I'm not the slightest bit goth or crafty. :)

  6. Amazing how something like changing the color on the floors makes such a huge difference. They look beautiful and with the colors on your walls it all seems to flow better if that makes sense... I always have to laugh at myself when I catch myself looking at ours floors and thinking of changing them out, and putting fresh paint up. It’s such an “adult” thing to do..

    1. Yes, that makes sense. The new floor color is much more cohesive with the grey and black.
Ha ha! True. My definition of "fun" has certainly changed since I became a homeowner.

  7. I love the new flooring, it looks so much more cassic and individual! I wish I could convince my landlord to let me lay new flooring here. Our floor looks a lot like your before picture... -.-#

    1. Thanks! It stinks when you can't change your flooring. Before I bought the house, I spent 10 years in apartments with beige carpet. Bleh.
