Desk Organizer

This project began with a bare wood desk organizer purchased on Amazon. It has four drawers which I neglected to put back in prior to taking the "before" picture. Oops.

The organizer's size can be adjusted because it is made of two pieces which slide apart. Nifty! :)

I painted the edges and smaller areas with black acrylic craft paint. I decoupaged floral paper on the larger areas and lined the drawers with a polka dot paper. I completed the organizer by adding black drawer pulls.

  3. I could use at least a dozen of these, and I doubt that would even be enough to keep me organized. Didn't I swear I was going to stop accumulating things after we moved out here? lol

P.S. What do you use to do the decoupaging with? ModPodge - or maybe there's something better available now?

    1. But your things are so pretty and interesting! :)

I like ArtMinds decoupage glue. It's essentially the Michael's store brand version of Mod Podge. It dries a tiny bit slower, which gives me about 30 seconds to get the paper in place before the glue dries. (Paints and glues dry incredibly fast in Colorado's low humidity.)

    2. Awesome, thank you! I'm going to grab some of that next time I'm in the city!

Yeah, not much humidity here either. :)

  4. Thoroughly beautiful! The mix of floral and dotted papers here works terrifically and looks delightful together.
