Batty Car

After running errands this past weekend, I treated myself to dinner. Well, it was a plain baked potato from a drive-through... but any food is a treat if I don't have to cook it myself. Anyway... the girl at the drive-through said to me, "Oh, you're the one with the Batman car! My brother was telling me about you! He went on and on about how cool your car is."
my cool car

My reactions to this:
Woo! I'm famous! (Ha ha ha!)
Somebody thinks I'm cool. Or at least my car is. That's quite an accomplishment. ;)
And most importantly -- I need to change my tag so people will stop thinking it's a Batman car.

When I first put the bat decals on my car, I got comments about the bats on my car. But in the last year or so, I have been getting comments about Batman. My tag has my name on it, and people are apparently interpreting that as a nod to the villian Bane in the last Batman movie. I suppose the front mask might evoke Batman as well. ;)

Maybe I should get a "LUVBATS" tag.

  1. hehehehe ... Fluevog, how I love you. How I completely stay away from your delicious treats here in NYC and in Boston. Indeed, you are doomed ... but then again, can Batman ever be doomed? *snicker* Forgive me, I'm a bit housebound at the moment and incredibly punchy.

  2. that's a nice car :-)
yeah, nice shoes (or clothes by the way) are evil for bank accounts, luckily for mine, I would have to order the shoes from abroad and no... I won't
By the way, I think you have the temperature the wrong way around at the end ;-)

    1. Thank you!
I've always had to order my favorite (expensive) footwear from abroad. Having nice shoes available in my own city might be dangerous indeed.
The temperatures are the right way 'round. They're negative numbers. It's THAT cold. :/

  3. The shoes look lovely, as does your car! I'm still dreaming of a deep purple car with bright green stars on it. But until now, the boyfriend intermitted...

  4. For Air Canada? Take a look at this then (: http://wizzair.com/ :D

I like your car. But honestly, the see where allthose Batman fans are coming from...well, probably I would even have to think of Batman first and not because of your nickname, just the front and the side of your car. :) Actually, I haven't even made the connection between your nickname and Batman right until now...but now I have to ask you, it's not intended, right? :D

    1. Pink and purple airplanes! :D Shoes in those colors would be cool.

Thank you! Yeah, it's totally understandable that people would think of Batman when they see my car. Batman is famous, while bats don't even cross people's minds ordinarily. The name connection is coincidental. Bane is my real name; I didn't know there was a villain named Bane until the Batman movie came out a year or two ago.

  5. Oh yes, I said a few choice words when that Denver store opened! ;) Every time they announce a store opening I am filled with such hope that gets dashed ha!

Fluevog's sizing is a bit erratic, so I totally recommend going to the store to try things on first!

And I love your car - it was the inspiration for Viktor's bats. :)

    1. I was pretty surprised that they chose Denver for a new store location. It's not a huge city, and it doesn't exactly have a reputation for style. ;)

Indeed. My feet are a challenge to fit on the best of days.

Thank you! I am honored to be an inspiration. :D

  6. That car is AWESOME!!! I shall have to look for some bat decals if I ever get another vehicle. (My current white van has yellow/orange flowers and green ivy painted on the front and sides, don't think bats would mix too well with that!)

    1. Thank you very much! Bat decals are pretty easy to find in October.

  7. I must admit, it's a lot of coincidences working against you, in regards to the bat love vs. batman love, hehe. Still, it *is* a cool car!

Yeah, as you can see, my hometown of Calgary also has one-- it took more willpower than I thought I was capable of to not go in while I was up there this past December.
Making out with the window *might've* happened, though... heh.

    1. Indeed. Thank you!

Ha ha! I've never been in a Fluevog store before. On my first visit, I should probably leave all of my credit and debit cards at home... in case my will is weak. ;)

  8. I would looooove to try them on one day. Not that I can afford them. Shoes don't always fit me, they are often too narrow, I don't dare buy online! I really want my own fluevogs! I think I would actually work on Air Canada just to get a pair, as long as they let me wear them on my days off too!

I love the bat decals, funny how everyone thinks its batman though. There are worse things, I suppose. I once had a customer whose last name was Batman, pretty sure he had legally changed it. I got pretty excited. His wife had purple hair, she might have been Catwoman :P

    1. Regular shoes rarely fit my wide feet, but there are couple of the Fluevog styles that have a wide, rounded toebox and give me a tiny bit of hope. I wouldn't risk ordering them online, but it might be worth a trip to try them on in the store.

The Air Canada ladies are lucky indeed to get such expensive shoes for their uniforms. :)

It's not a bad thing that people think of Batman. I like Batman. But I like bats better.

Batman as a last name! Too funny!

  9. Great! I hope that you will be able to try a pair of Fluevogs and hopefully your feet will like them.
My car is orange metallic and I have dreams about painting black flames on it :)

    1. Thank you.

Black flames are a must-have for an orange metallic car! You could get decals - they're easier and cheaper than paint. :D

  10. I've found that talking into a plastic cup really helps with the Bane voice.
